As per the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), famine was confirmed in Gaza Province in August 2025, and it is expected to spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis provinces. The situation is particularly dire for children, with over 132,000 children under the age of five at risk of death due to severe malnutrition by June 2026.
